Court of Appeal to Hear ACD Appeals

A  panel of three Justices has been constituted to hear 51 appeals arising from the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court.

The panel consists of Hon. Justice Geoffrey Kiryabwire, Hon.  Justice Stephen Musota and Hon. Lady Justice Percy Night Tuhaise who will be holding a one-month session starting on October 15,2018

Of the 51, eight are appeals instituted by Government. These include appeals against the acquittal of Ms. Patricia Ojangole, the Executive Director Uganda Development Bank, for conflict of interest as well an acquittal of MP, Hon. Betty Namboze Bakireke on the offence of corruption.

Other appeals to be handled in this session are that of Mr. Geoffrey Kazinda, the former Principal Accountant in the Office of the Prime Minster challenging a five-year jail term after being convicted on a number of charges such as abuse of office, forgery, among others.
