Training on Judgment Writing Kicks-Off

The Judicial Training Institute kicked off training on judgment writing mainly targeting Judicial Officers at the lower bench.

The session, which will see more than 80 Judicial Officers at the rank of Chief Magistrate and Magistrate Grade One trained, is being facilitated by the head of the High Court Anti-Corruption Division, Hon. Justice Lawrence Gidudu. 

Hon.Justice Gidudu explained that the training will equip participants with relevant knowledge and skills in writing judgment and styles of writing judgment.

The participants have been split into two groups and allocated two days for the hands on training.

Speaking at the training, Ag. Chief Registrar, HW Isaac Muwata urged the participants to take the training seriously as it will have a direct output on their work. 

He also tasked the Judicial Training Institute to ensure that all Magistrates get equal training opportunities, adding that at the end of the course,participants will identify approaches and techniques of judgment writing.

The training is covering topics such as contents of a judgment, structure of a judgment and practice in judgment writing.
