CJ Appreciates Visiting US Judge

The Hon. Chief Justice Bart Katureebe hosted retired American Judge, Hon. Justice Timothy Tower, to a dinner at his official residence at Nakasero, Kampala.
The American Judge has for the past six months been in Uganda to offer technical assistance on the development of ADR and other case management mechanisms. He has spearheaded mediation trainings for judicial officers and other key stakeholders.
The CJ appreciated him for making time to train judicial officers on different innovations including Mediation. He also thanked Pepperdine University for their continued technical support, and urged judicial officers to continue learning so as to ensure a vibrant judiciary.
Hon.Justice Tower thanked the Judiciary leadership for their hospitality saying they had made his stay in Uganda memorable. He said he had made observations and recommendations to the Hon. Chief Justice which he hopes will be of help in the Ugandan Judiciary.
The dinner was, among others, attended by Justices of the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, Executive Director JSI, the Solicitor General, and the Secretary to the Judiciary, the Chief Registrar, Judiciary Technical Advisor and the leadershipof the Latter Day Saints Church, who sponsored Hon. Justice Tower's stay in Uganda.
